'Epiphany' Text and Photo: (C) L. Sarai 2009

Alison had barely opened his eyes when he met with the stench of fresh urine. Knew what had happened but could do nothing to alleviate the pain. He tried to sit but the disgust that overflowed not allowed any movement. There she was, lying face up on a mattress filled with urine and blood.

The mild impact of the broken bottle had transformed him, wanted to return to the previous night he had tried to change the locks of the apartment as he was coming.

Her face was barely recognizable, had no doubts, all locks should be changed completely, "he said to himself since that time that George went mad.

Now, one side of it, it lay inert with the smile wiped away in tears, never to return.

'From Girl Forever' award from the CUEC

I have a joy in the heart and I am publishing this blog post to congratulate a great friend to have received honorable mention in the award of the "José Rovirosa" Best Student Documentary for " Since Forever Girl "in the most important contest of CUEC (University Center of Cinematographic Studies) of the UNAM.
nuetras talks
remember now where, excited, I told how the tapes were, how I felt, how it was forged this beautiful documentary. I remember the trip, the outputs' here around ', day by day. in workshops on the streets. I also remember that just a year earlier, in September 2008 when it was the presentation of this documentary on UACM, I did an interview and published it.

As a small tribute to this woman warrior, I leave the note here on the former conduct documentary account of the conversation with Claudia Hernandez .

A big hug for you dear member and an honor to have you .

From girl forever "is the title of the film documentary directed by Claudia Hernandez and displayed last Monday September 10 as part of the closure of the Traveling Workshop Documentary UACM taught in the historic district. This video, 8 which are designed, sample from the same credits available to the double meaning between the innocence of a child until the issue so strong that it: rape.

Three women appear casual chatting to what each one is engaged, your name, age and a bucket of ice water to the viewer, the plot changes dramatically to immerse those who view the experience that each of them lived to be abused.

each with its variants, but the worrying thing is that they have the serious problem of sexual abuse that occurs in many women since they are girls, either by a relative or someone close to the family (mostly), being treated as victims themselves they were to blame for everything. In an interview, the director said that what led her to make this documentary was partly "the despair of listening to most of my friends, that somehow or other we have made some abuse of girls and think that this is already normal. " One

abused by an uncle, another by a close acquaintance and the third who would force marry. Each breaks the silence and discusses how to life-long suffered abuse that undermine their psychological integrity, physical and sexual, as unfortunately many of them were not only abused on one occasion or by the same person, this is the For one of them even after leaving her husband was raped by army in one of the checkpoints in Oaxaca when she traveled to Mexico City.

"... that will happen to you always, to all women happens ..." are the words that he told his brother to another of the women who testified at the refusal by the latter to support and denounce his uncle of rape. Clearly, the worst that can happen in these cases is the silence, take this as normal and above all fear sue the person even if it is a relative.

"It is important that when there is a rape case is said and let everyone know, they know what is making this person, whether a relative, acquaintance or anyone, but everyone knows who is" psychoanalyst says Maria Luisa Saldaña, same as support in developing the documentary.

However, the treatment that gives the documentary of their experiences are not the victims, as each one has come to break the silence to continue with their lives, although forever bear the wound in each of their hearts since childhood forever.

With the firm conviction that this work will help make society realize that there are isolated cases and that all days are raping a girl or boy who exercise greater care in their homes "and above all to end this "culture of silence ', Claudia ends his film by saying that" a girl who was sexually abused and was silent for many years, no longer victim to breaking the silence ... they are not victims. " Do you?

"Say it is not beginning the Titicaca
... begins where you see first
and you appear everywhere ... "

Lake Titicaca, located in the territories of Peru and Bolivia, is the highest lake in the world (about 3.800 meters. Above sea level) and the second largest in South America (it takes 7 days for traverse by boat).

Its maximum depth exceeding 360 meters and due to the purity of air, water is particularly transparent.

Right now I write this it is to remember the 13th of May when the first time I stepped on the land that framed the Titicaca. It was now almost 6 pm and sunset was present. Lake it seemed that he was preparing to sleep but did nothing to invite us, happy travelers to immerse in its immensity.

That night, the Titicaca would give us not only the depth of its waters. Also let us live the best of the night when, in the darkness that hit Copacabana (place where we got to the lake), the Milky Way in the sky greeted us.

Words fall short to express what I felt when I left the store where I bought some embroidery and together with my Ecuadorian friend looked at the sky. A blanket of stars surrounded by dust that could ever describe. was upon us.

Then we talked a local at that place looks the Milky Way because of the location and height - never see anything like this in Mexico - I thought and ran with Susi to meet other friends traveling with us.

We lay for hours in the sands of Lake Titicaca to see how the lights looked like they hung some threads and came to us without hesitation. Later, we would walk to the lake to dip your feet in the icy water that reflected the stars while playing the flute that Moti had bought the day before in the city of La Paz, Bolivia.

The next day, when the sun cast its first rays, ask to Titicaca permission to sail to the Isla del Sol we were there, a German, an Israeli, an Ecuadorian, Mexican and two looking at the horizon, contemplating snow-capped mountains surrounding the lake., feeling the cool air on their faces, smiling while his heart leaped ...
